Born on October 6, 1957, in Louisiana, Mike lived a life marked by unwavering faith, deep love for his family, and a steadfast commitment to his church and community. He lived a life rooted in his love for Jesus Christ, his church, and his family. His faith was the foundation of who he was and guided the way he lived, loved, and served others.
On August 4, 1979, Mike married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Crystal Umbrell Ogden. Their marriage was a testament to devotion, partnership, and God's faithfulness through every season of life.
Mike was the proud father of two daughters, Kimberly Ann Sitgreaves and her husband, Drew, and Stacie Leigh Barr and her husband, Brandon. He loved spending time with his girls, and he took great pride in their accomplishments and happiness.
His greatest joy was being "Paw Paw." He adored his grandchildren: Andrew Graham Sitgreaves, Briggs Michael Sitgreaves, Harper Jane Sitgreaves, and Brett Ogden Barr. He loved making them laugh and was always ready with a joke, a playful story, or a bit of good-natured teasing. The memories they shared and the laughter he brought into their lives will remain among their most treasured gifts.
A passionate supporter of his hometown, Mike especially loved the Tenaha Tigers, his forever favorite team. Whether in the stands cheering, talking sports with friends, or keeping up with every game he could, he was one of the Tigers' most faithful fans. He genuinely loved the youth of his hometown and showed them often through his support.
He also enjoyed playing golf and valued the friendships and fellowship the game provided. The golf course was one of his favorite places, and many of his closest friendships were strengthened there.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Mike Ogden Scholarship Fund, held at First National Bank in Tenaha.
Michael Joe Ogden will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His faith, love for his family, and joyful spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those he loved. His family takes comfort in knowing that he is now in the presence of his Savior, whom he faithfully loved and served throughout his life.
