December 1, 2025 - The Shelby County Historic Courthouse on the downtown square will be open for a Christmas Open House hosted by the William Carroll Crawford Daughters of the Republic of Texas on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. Doors will be open at 4:30pm until the Community Tree Lighting at 6pm.
An exhibit featuring old and new photos of the downtown square along with sketches of the Historic 1885 Courthouse will be on display in a downstairs room. Children visitors will have the opportunity to hang an ornament on the large Christmas Tree in the Gibson Room.
The 1885 Historic Courthouse will also be open on Saturday, December 6 at 4:30pm before the lighted Santa's Christmas Parade.
The DRT docents are available to give tours on Thursdays and Fridays from 1pm to 4pm weather permitting. For more information, visit online 1885courthouse.com.
