April 27, 2026 - Since 1922, the Buddy Poppy has been an integral part of the VFW community. As the VFW’s official memorial flower, the Poppy represents the blood shed by American service members and reiterates that the Veterans of Foreign Wars will never forget their sacrifices.
On Saturday, May 2, 2026, Shelby County Memorial VFW Post 8904 will be distributing Buddy Poppies at Walmart on Hurst Street from 9am to 3pm. Your generous donation will be used to meet the unexpected needs of our Shelby County Veterans, ensuring they receive the support they deserve.
