December 3, 2025 - On the recent chilly morning of December 2nd, Center Garden Club members turned out to create festive Christmas designs for the eight urns on the Center square. Each urn is now filled with a variety of East Texas fresh greenery such as pine, magnolia, yaupon, cedar, cypress, and arbor vitae which members had gathered from Shelby County's beautiful forests, lawns, and shrub gardens.
Pictured at work on the square are club members Janette Wittmann, Carolyn Bounds, Jennifer Whittlesey, Cherry Jones, Jennifer Wulf, and Vicky Warren. The club wishes to thank George Warren and Buster Bounds for their kind and generous help with this project!
The club also wishes at this time to pay a special memorial tribute to a wonderful member, Pamela Sykes of Hemphill, who had chaired the club's urn decoration committee for the past year and for several years the club's annual spring plant sale. Pamela passed away on November 21, 2025.
