November 6, 2026 - The Center Fire Department (CFD) responded to an industrial incident at The Press Plant located at 201 Austin Street in Center, owned by Phillips Publishing LLC, where a press worker's arm was trapped in the printing press on November 6, 2026, at around 5:12pm.
According to the CFD, they attempted to free the individual from the press by using Jaws-of-Life, however, the jaws weren’t able to gain a successful grip due to slippage. It was determined necessary to cut the roller wheel, which then made it possible for the firefighters to free the trapped individual.
The worker was then transported by ambulance to the Center Municipal Airport where a landing zone was established for a medical helicopter to fly her to a hospital in Shreveport for treatment.
