Child Life-flighted Following Crash Incident on CR 2625

May 12, 2025 - CR 2625 was the scene of a single-vehicle crash on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from which a child was life-flighted by helicopter.

Emergency medical services personnel transported a two-year-old passenger from the vehicle by ambulance to a Shelbyville Volunteer Fire Department landing zone at the Shelbyville ISD parking lot.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), at 2:54pm a white 2020 Jeep Wrangler driven by Marrissa Roberts, 27, of Shelbyville was traveling southeast on CR 2625 with her two-year-old child in her lap. Roberts dropped her phone and went to reach her phone before traveling off the roadway to the left and striking a tree where airbags deployed.

The child was transported to LSU Shreveport by helicopter for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Roberts was not reported to have been injured as a result of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

Crash investigator was DPS State Trooper Josh Gradberg.

Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies were on scene to assist.
