David’s Daily Devotion for April 2

April 2, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Saturday, April 2.

I am not a cook. Well, I can cook breakfast, as long as what you want for breakfast is scrambled eggs. My mother was an amazing cook. From her little kitchen she worked culinary miracles that fed huge gatherings of her family and her church.

One of my best friends in Center, Texas is a trained chef (and a trained drummer). He's worked in the kitchens of some famous chefs. Last night I watched a program about the chaotic, challenging world of a restaurant kitchen. One of the culinary miracle workers said, "Great cooking is a mixture of purpose and passion."

That's a great quote. And that's a great philosophy for any part of life - including our spiritual life. The apostle Paul lived his life with purpose and passion, and in Ephesians 2:10 he wrote -

We are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the things He planned for us long ago.

Meet you back here on Monday,

Bro. David
