Today, First Baptist Center is going to "feed the fish". That's fish, as in freshmen. Every year our high school offers an orientation day for incoming ninth graders, and they call it Fish Camp. And we get to feed them pizza. Fish love pizza!
Starting high school is one of the big "first days" in life. You're moving into an environment with more independence, greater responsibility, higher pressure - kind of scary. Life has several days like that - first day on the job, first day of marriage, first day of retirement. Great days, but kind of scary.
When Christians are dealing with a challenging moment, you'll often hear them say something like, "I can't imagine facing this without God". Here's some words from Him.
In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps. Proverbs 16:9
Show me Your ways, Lord, teach me Your paths . . . and my hope is in You all day long. Psalm 25:4
The Lord makes firm the steps of one who delights in Him; though He May stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with His hand. Psalm 37:23
