David's Daily Devotion for April 1

April 1, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Tuesday, April 1.

Something light for this April Fool’s Day!

In 1998, in the Miami, Florida area, some very interesting billboards began to appear along highways. Paid for by an anonymous donor, they had short messages in white letters on a stark black background - messages from God! They caused quite a stir, and by 1999, other donors had joined, and over 10,000 billboards popped up in over 200 U.S. cities. I was living in Dallas at that time, and everybody was talking about them. Over the last 25 years, these little messages have reappeared from time to time, and many churches have put them on their sign boards. They’re intended to give you a chuckle - but, like most humor, they also have a serious point. Here’s a few -

*Need directions? - God
*What part of ‘Thou Shalt Not’ didn’t you understand? - God
*My way IS the highway - God
*Let’s meet at my house Sunday, before the game - God
*One nation under me - God
*Don’t make me come down there - God
*Well you did ask for a sign - God
*Tell the kids I love them - God
*Keep using my name in vain and I’ll make rush hour longer - God
*Have you read my book yet? There will be a test - God
*That ‘Love Thy Neighbor’ thing, I meant that - God
*We need to talk - God

Meet you back here tomorrow,
David
