- April 12, 1945 - Franklin Roosevelt dies and Harry Truman ascends to the presidency.
- April 12, 1955 - Jonas Salk releases his polio vaccine to the public.
- April 12, 1961 - Yuri Gagarin, Russian cosmonaut, becomes first man to rocket into space.
- April 12, 1980 - The first space shuttle, Columbia, starts its' maiden journey.
All of these amazing things happened on this day in history. So, what's going to happen today? Heaven only knows. God only knows.
