July 21, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Monday, July 21.
Change. When I was a boy that meant money in my pocket. My grandfather called it “silver.” I loved to hear the jingle-jangle sound when I walked - made me feel rich! And there were lots of things that a pocketful of change could buy.
But all that has changed. I don’t carry coins around anymore. I don’t really use cash that much, so there’s not much change coming back. Today, the word has a different meaning, and unlike the definition from my childhood, it’s not something that’s always welcomed or treasured.
Our world has gone through a level of change in the last few years that rivals the change that our parents and grandparents and great-grandparents encountered during the great wars and during the Great Depression. Change. It comes to us all and so, of course, God speaks to us about it in His Word.
Isaiah 43:18-19 - Forget the former things, do not dwell on the past. I am doing a new thing, says the Lord. Now it springs up, don’t you see it?
Joshua 1:9 - Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 - Therefore, we do not lose hope. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Meet you back here tomorrow,
David
