David's Daily Devotion for September 27

September 27, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Tuesday, September 27.

Our church recently ordered a new 15-passenger van for our Day Care and our Youth and Children’s Ministries. But more about that later...

On this day in 1908, the first Model T rolled off the assembly line. It was dependable, reliable, and, most importantly, it was affordable. Cars had been around since the 1880’s, but they were very expensive to buy, and very expensive to maintain. They were for the rich. The Model T was for everyone, and 15 million were sold. This car not only revolutionized the automobile industry - it changed America. Henry Ford had a good idea. And good ideas stand the test of time.

Here’s some more good ideas - from the Book of Proverbs.

  • Those who control their tongue will have long life; opening your mouth can ruin everything. 13:3
  • Pride leads to disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. 11:2
  • Hatred leads to strife, but love covers all sins. 10:12
  • The world of the generous gets larger and larger; the world of the stingy gets smaller and smaller. 11:24

The Lord is more pleased when we do what is right, than when we offer Him sacrifices. 21:3

Good ideas, that stand the test of time. Oh, almost forgot! That van our church is buying... it’s a Ford.

Meet you back here tomorrow,
