April 24, 2023 - The Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department had 6 calls during the week of April 16th to 22nd. Here’s a summary of the week’s events.
Sunday evening at 3:13pm a call was received regarding an assault victim with lacerations to their hand at a residence on County Road 3361. The JVFD medical team responded to render first aid to the patient with Allegiance EMS arriving later. A deputy from Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and Precinct 3 Constable Roy Cheatwood were also present on scene.

Sunday night a second call came in at 11:57pm, this time for a tree across the road on FM 2428. The JVFD responded to assist a TxDOT crew with removing the obstacle from the roadway.
Monday evening at 6:04pm a page came through for a lift assist at a home on Carroll Street.
Monday night at 8:57pm another call was received for a single vehicle accident on County Road 3326. The driver of the vehicle had minor injuries as a result of impacting a tree and was checked out by the JVFD medical team and Allegiance EMS.
Thursday night at 8:54pm a page came in for a vehicle fire on Richardson Street. The JVFD responded with Engine 1 and promptly extinguished the fire.

Saturday evening at 6:05pm a call came in regarding a non-responsive person at a business on the Haslam Strip. The JVFD responded in association with DeSoto Fire District 1 and DeSoto EMS to provide medical care.
