NWS Issues Special Weather Statement Effective Until 6:45pm

May 19, 2026 - The National Weather Service issued at 5:50pm on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 a special weather statement.

A line of showers will impact Nacogdoches, Northwestern Angelina, Cherokee, Southern Panola, Southern Rusk, Northern Sabine, San Augustine, and Shelby counties and Southwestern Natchitoches, Southern De Soto, South Central Red River, and Sabine parishes until 6:45 PM CDT.

At 5:50pm, Doppler radar was tracking a line of showers extending from near Campti to near Maydelle, or extending from 9 miles north of Natchitoches to 13 miles west of Rusk, moving south at 40 mph.

Radar indicated wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea-sized hail. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.

Locations Impacted Include: Lufkin, Nacogdoches, Natchitoches, Jacksonville, Rusk, Center, Mansfield, Milam, Many, San Augustine, Zwolle, Logansport, Alto, Tenaha, Timpson, Garrison, Joaquin, Wells, and Converse.
