June 4, 2026 - Notice is hereby given that a Regular meeting of the Governing body of the Shelby County Commissioners’ Court will be held on the 10th day of June, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. in the Courtroom of the Shelby County Courthouse at 200 San Augustine Street, Center, Shelby County, Texas to deliberate and consider action on the following items:
1. Approve the minutes of: May 6th Special Meeting, May 13th Regular Meeting, May 20th Special Meeting and May 27th Special Meeting.
2. Approve and pay weekly expenses.
3. Public comments on Agenda item.
4. Approve Officers Report.
5. Approve an agreement between the County and JRJ Construction, Inc. allowing a 90-day extension to the terms of the bid for the repairs on the Historic Jail Building.
6. Discuss and possibly designate (2) two members to represent Shelby County on the DETCOG Board of Directors for a one-year term from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027.
7. Discuss and possibly approve the change order of the tempered window glass replacement at the active Shelby County Courthouse.
8. Discuss and possibly approve the Police Training Agreement between the Shelby County Sheriff’s office and the part-time Jailer to attend the Police Academy.
9. Discuss and possibly approve the pre-demolition asbestos inspection proposal from Brady Environmental for the former elementary school location at 214 Nacogdoches St.
Executive Session:
10. An Executive Session will also be held for the purpose of discussing personnel, hearing complaints against personnel, or to deliberate the appointed, employment evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee. The closed session is authorized by the Texas Open Meeting Act, Texas Government Code Section 551.074
11. Reopen public meeting.
12. Discuss and possibly make a decision on issues in Executive Session.
13. Commissioners' Court Reports: These are for informational purposes only. Any action that needs to be taken on the basis of these reports will be placed on a future agenda for action.
