January 8, 2026 - Notice is hereby given that a Regular meeting of the Governing body of the Shelby County Commissioners’ Court will be held on the 14th day of January, 2026 at 9:30am in the Courtroom of the Shelby County Courthouse at 200 San Augustine Street, Center, Shelby County, Texas to deliberate and consider action on the following items:
1. Approve the minutes of: December 3rd Special Meeting, December 10th Regular Meeting, December 17th Special Meeting, December 26th Special Meeting and December 31st Special Meeting.
2. Approve and pay weekly expenses.
3. Approve and pay current payroll.
4. Public comments on Agenda item.
5. Approve Officers Report.
6. District Attorney Karren Price to address the Court regarding year 2025 (Criminal) District Court proceedings.
7. Discuss and possibly approve the Proclamation declaring 2026 as the “Year of Volunteer” in Shelby County.
8. Discuss and possibly make a decision regarding taking out the trees and vegetation between the Courthouse driveway and the parking lot and pouring a concrete sidewalk in that space.
9. Approve the continuation of the Burn Ban issued on Jan 1, 2026.
10. Discuss and possibly approve Commissioner PCT. 1 to list a 2007 Peterbilt truck on Purple Wave.
Executive Session:
11. An executive session will be held for the purpose of consulting with Legal Counsel. This closed session is authorized by the Texas Open Meeting Act, Texas Governmental Code Section 551.071
12. Reopen public meeting.
13. Discuss and possibly make a decision on issues discussed in Executive Session.
14. Commissioners' Court Reports: These are for informational purposes only. Any action that needs to be taken on the basis of these reports will be place on future agenda for action.
