January 14, 2026 - Notice is hereby given that a Special meeting of the Governing body of the Shelby County Commissioners’ Court will be held on the 21st day of January, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. in the Courtroom of the Shelby County Courthouse at 200 San Augustine Street, Center, Shelby County, Texas to deliberate and consider action on the following items:
1. Approve and pay weekly expenses.
2. Public comments on Agenda item.
3. Review bids received for (1) Haul truck for PCT 1 and possibly award the bid.
4. Discuss and make a decision to extend or lift the Burn Ban which was issued on January 1, 2026.
5. Discuss and possibly approve the contract with the City of Center to rent the community house for the March Primary Election.
6. Discuss and possibly approve PCT 4 Commissioner to offer a used 12x24 portable building for sealed bidding.
7. Update on the Courthouse repair and reconstruction project and possibly approve change orders regarding the project.
8. Chief Deputy Mike Hanson to address the Court regarding upgrades to the fire prevention system located at the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.
9. Discuss and possibly approve the roof repair at the Adult Probation office.
10. COMMISSIONER’S COURT REPORTS: These are for informational purposes only. Any action that needs to be taken on the basis of these reports will be place on future agenda for action.
