August 14, 2026 - Notice is hereby given that a Special meeting of the Governing body of the Shelby County Commissioners’ Court will be held on the 19th day of August, 2026 at 9:30am in the Courtroom of the Shelby County Courthouse at 200 San Augustine Street, Center, Shelby County, Texas to deliberate and consider action on the following items:
1. Approve weekly expenses.
2. Public comments on agenda item.
3. Kelsy Hairgrove, Shelter Coordinator with Happy Tails Adoption Center to present the Court with an update of recent achievements and future plans for the shelter.
4. Announce the 2026-2027 Proposed Budget was filed on Friday, August 14, 2026 for public inspection in the County Clerk’s office as required by Local Government Code, Section.111.006.
5. Discuss 2026-2027 proposed tax rate, take record vote and schedule Public Hearing.
6. Discuss and possibly approve the bid received from 4C Electrical for the installation of flood lights to be mounted at the Annex and Courthouse Parking Lot Area.
7. Discuss and possibly approve the bid received from 4C Electrical for the installation of flood lights at the Agri Life Campus.
8. Discuss and possibly take action on the current Burn Ban.
