Shelby County Football for Week 9

Three of Shelby County’s five varsity football teams earned district wins last week.

The Center Roughriders earned a 44-27 home win over the Bullard Panthers on Friday. The Roughriders are 3-4 overall and they are 1-1 in District 8 4A-2 conference play. Center will host the Brownsboro Bears on Friday, October 24 at 7:30 p.m. The Bears are 1-6, 0-2 after a 28-21 loss to Rusk.

The Joaquin Rams took a 56-0 Homecoming win over the Hemphill Hornets on Friday. Joaquin is now 4-3 and 1-1 in District 11 2A-1. They will next head to Timpson on Friday, October 24, 2025 for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff at Bears Stadium. The Bears fell to the Shelbyville Dragons last week by a 17-14 score. The Bears stand at 3-4 overall and 1-1 in the conference. Shelbyville improved their season mark to 2-5 and their District 11 mark is 1-1 after the win over the Timpson Bears. Shelbyville will travel to San Augustine for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff at Wolves Stadium on Friday, October 24. The Wolves are 5-2, and 2-0 in district play after beating the Garrison Bulldogs by a 31-15 score.

The Tenaha Tigers lost to the Mount Enterprise Wildcats by a 56-22 score. Their season mark falls to 1-7 and their District 11 2A-2 record is 0-4. They will travel to Cushing on Friday, October 24 for a 7 p.m. kickoff at Bearkats Stadium. Cushing is 3-4, 0-3 after a 53-26 loss to Grapeland.
