August 28, 2024 - Timpson Volunteer Fire Department received a grant from Enbridge to purchase cribbing and a gas monitor.
Cribbing is used during a rescue to stabilize a vehicle to prevent further injury to the occupant or to the rescuers. The new cribbing is now in operation on the rescue truck. The benefit of this cribbing is huge for the department for both health and safety. The new cribbing by Turtle plastic can be washed after each use and doesn’t absorb chemicals as traditional wood cribbing does. Another advantage is being able to carry more cribbing due to its stack-ability inside the rescue truck.
The gas monitor will be used to detect any harmful gases as well as possible explosions. Timpson VFD will continue to train on the use of these items.
A huge thanks to Enbridge for showing their support of the Timpson VFD.
