More men and women in the United States die from lung cancer than any other type of cancer. An estimated 155,000 people will die from lung cancer each year in the U.S., accounting for about 25 percent of all cancer deaths.

Studies show that men rarely see a doctor for regular check-ups, and only 40 percent of men see the doctor when they have a serious health condition. During the height of the COVID pandemic, these numbers worsened.

April 15, 2021 – The Wound Care Center at Nacogdoches Medical Center (NMC) has earned a Center of Distinction award by Healogics•, a national provider of advanced wound care services. The award recognizes NMC’s Wound Care Center for achieving outstanding clinical outcomes for twelve consecutive months, including patient satisfaction rates higher than 92 percent and a minimum wound healing rate of at least 92 percent within 28 median days to heal. There were 555 Centers eligible for the Center of Distinction award and 278 achieved the honor.
