Suspects Sought in Connection to Newspaper Machine Thefts

January 13, 2016 - Sometime between Friday, January 8th and Saturday, January 9th unknown suspects went to Brookshire Brother, H&S Foods and Tec Co Gas Station located in Center, Texas. There they took three (3) Nacogdoches Daly Sentinel newspaper machines one (1) from each location.

Williamson Sworn in as New Center Court Clerk

November 9, 2015 - Daniel Williamson was sworn in as the City of Center’s new Court Clerk on Monday, November 9th at 10am. Daniel was sworn in by Court Clerk Donna Dugger. The ceremony was witnessed by City of Center Judge Grover Russell, Center Police Chief Jim Albers, also on hand was Daniel’s sister and brother-in-law.

Center PD Seeks Suspect in Attempted Abduction

October 5, 2015 - The Center Police Department is seeking information relating to an attempted abduction which took place on Saturday, October 3, 2015. It was reported a Hispanic male attempted to talk to and lure a 14-year-old girl into his vehicle in the area of Creswell Street.

The victim described the suspect as English speaking medium brown skin male, in his 20s, 5'8" tall, driving a white Chrysler 300. Center Police Detectives are actively searching for this suspect.

Information on Missing Person Sought by Crime Stoppers

August 5, 2015 - The Center Police Department is seeking information in regards to a missing person. Vance Ethridge, 41, of Center was last seen on July 4th at the Super 8 Motel in Center, Texas.

Center PD Officer Responding to Crash Diverts to Gunshot Call

March 4, 2015 - On Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at approximately 7:18pm Officer Jacob Gross of the Center Police Department was en route to the auto-pedestrian crash on Tenaha Street when he was diverted to Center Place Apartments located at 705 Clifford Street in reference to a possible gunshot victim who had passed out.
