The Daughters of the Republic of Texas will have the Historic Courthouse open Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 10am until 4pm for tours of the courthouse. The DRT will also have the traveling trunk at the courthouse which has a wide variety of items pioneers would have used daily during the time of the Republic of Texas, 1836 to Feb 19, 1846.
The Rio Theatre will also a Saturday matinee on July 21st at 1:30pm. Showing is Incredibles 2.
July 17, 2018 - Citizens from Joaquin and Tenaha attended the Joaquin City Council meeting on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 primarily because of item 8 on the agenda - discussion on Inter-local agreement between the City of Joaquin and City of Tenaha with respect to Joint Policing.

June 21, 2018 - The Shelby County Young Professionals Network (YPN) is hosting a Summer Cookout sponsored by Center Glass on Thursday, June 21st at Hawkeye Hunting Club. Come enjoy grilled hamburgers and hotdogs and bring your favorite card or board games! The event is free and starts at 5:30pm.
Rain is in the forecast but it won't stop the YPN from having a great time!
