Update: According to the Shelby County Jail arrest log, as of 7:32pm on Thursday, February 19, William Bryce Moore, 28, of Tenaha has been arrested on the charge of Capital Murder.

January 23, 2015 - Following executive session, Joaquin City Council denied a request from Dub Alford to move water meters off his property and announced their new hire to be Amanda Willey.
The meeting was opened by Mayor Mike Wood and council members present at the meeting were Bill Baker, Ben Brittain, Pat Gray, and Lee Vern Stotts-Gilliam. Also present at the meeting was Public Works Director, Perry Pugh; City Secretary, Donna Fitzgerald; Constable Billy Hearnsberger; Ray Vann with Raymond K. Vann and Associates out of Lufkin; Dub Alford; and Trey West.
January 21, 2015 - A Shelbyville man perished in an automotive, pedestrian crash Wednesday morning, January 21, 2015 in Jasper County.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety, the fatal crash occurred at 6:50am two miles south of Jasper. A 2013 truck tractor owned by Red Watson Logging Inc. towing a pole trailer was traveling southbound on US 96 in the inside lane. For an unknown reason, a pedestrian ran out in front of the 18-wheeler and was struck and killed. The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured, but visibly shaken after the crash.
