January 16, 2015 - A three vehicle crash occurred on Tenaha Street near the intersection of Malone Street at 3:40pm on Thursday afternoon causing northbound traffic to have to detour onto Childs Street and behind the Fannie Brown Booth Memorial Library.

January 12, 2015 - After much discussion Commissioners' Court approved a motion to move Indigent Health Care back to the County Judge's office which unfortunately eliminates one county employee's position.

January 3, 2015 - Firemen responded to a house fire during Saturday morning's thunderstorm at 1629 CR 4084 in Timpson, Texas.

The Timpson Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) was dispatched to the residential fire at 3:06am on January 3, 2015. Upon arrival on scene, the home, a single wide trailer belonging to John Mahan, had flames and smoke coming out of the windows. After locating the owner safely outside along with his family, the meter was pulled and Timpson firemen attacked the fire using two lines off of tanker trucks to get it under control.

December 19, 2014 - Nacogdoches Medical Center (NMC) announced the doors to the Center Emergency Department will be open to the public starting at 8am, Monday, December 22, 2014 which is 528 days since the closure of Shelby Regional Medical Center (SRMC).

January 8, 2014 - As of yesterday, January 7, analog radio across Shelby County is silent. Due to issues with the new digital setup, the analog equipment was shutdown by D.F.W. Communications at the request of Sheriff Willis Blackwell. With the shutdown of the analog equipment, the area volunteer fire departments are without their once trusted paging system.
