January 23, 2017 - Do you like having the right to shoot your firearms outside of the city limits of Center? An amendment to an already existing city ordinance is seeking to take in almost a mile distance into the county in its range of regulation.

January 20, 2017 - U.S. Highway 96 South of Center was the scene of a two-vehicle collision just under three miles from Loop 500 Wednesday, January 18, 2017.

January 18, 2017 - A two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 96 occurred just north of the Center Country Club on January 17, 2017 causing major injury to one driver.

The Center Fire Department was dispatched to the scene of the crash and used Jaws-of-life to extricate one of the drivers.

January 12, 2017 - A Shelby County grand jury for the January Term 2017 of the 273rd Judicial District Court met Tuesday, January 10, 2017 and indicted 39 cases.

Barnard Jackson was indicted for injury to a child, elderly or disabled individual, third degree felony. The indictment alleges, on February 9, 2016 Jackson caused bodily injury to an individual 14 years of age or younger, by striking the individual with a blunt object causing a laceration to that person's right hand.
