February 5, 2015 - Lone Star Grill was the scene of a car fire in Joaquin Wednesday, February 5, 2015 and was almost included in the inferno.

February 3, 2015 - The Center Fire Department was dispatched to a fire at a chicken farm involving a piece of equipment at 2:55pm on Tuesday, February 3, 2015.

A crew was working at loading chickens and cleaning out chicken houses at Tres Niños chicken farm owned by Austin Lucas at the time the fire ignited.

January 29, 2015 - A revitalization project for the downtown Center square takes another step closer to fruition as the Center City Council approved an engineering contract for it at their recent meeting on Monday, January 26, 2015.

The engineering services contract with EGA is for the 2014 Downtown Revitalization Texas Capital Fund Grant. This project is for Cora, Shelbyville and San Augustine Streets and the area included is from the current courthouse to the square and a block of both Cora Street and Shelbyville Street.
