May 26, 2016 - On June 14th, we will commemorate the adoption of our countries flag with 13 stars and stripes to represent our nation and our founding colonies. With 50 stars in our current flag, our pride for our country stays strong. 

April 28, 2016 - On Memorial Day, our country will remember the military men and women who gave their lives serving our nation. I hope we all take time to give thanks for those who sacrificed everything for our nation, so we might live free.

January 28, 2016 - In February, we will honor George Washington, known as the "Father of our Country," on President's Day. Through his skills, leadership and longing to live in a country of free people, he laid a foundation for our country's future by building a lasting democratic institution.  

November 25, 2015 - Christmas has been a favorite holiday of mine since I was a young boy. Of course, I was lucky because I grew up in a toy factory where my father, Talley Nichols, manufactured toy cap guns.

October 29, 2015 - When I drive across the district meeting with community leaders, local elected officials and constituents, I am constantly reminded of how lucky we are to live in East Texas.
