SFA Students Collecting Denim for Third Year with Cotton Incorporated

Stephen F. Austin State University students will again partner with Cotton Incorporated to collect denim for the Blue Jeans Go Green project this fall. Fashion merchandising students collected approximately 6,000 pieces of denim last fall and hope to collect more than 10,000 pieces this semester.

SFA Gardens to Host Herbal Soap Seminar

August 23, 2016 - Stephen F. Austin State University’s SFA Gardens will host a soap-making workshop from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 10, in Room 101 of the Brundrett Conservation Education Building at the SFA Pineywoods Native Plant Center, 2900 Raguet St.

The Gifts from the Garden workshop will be led by Elyce Rodewald, SFA Gardens education coordinator. Participants will use the cold-press method of soap making and will take home samples of luxurious soap they create.

SFA Students to Compete in American Marketing Association Collegiate Case Competition

August 5, 2016 - Members of Stephen F. Austin State University’s American Marketing Association chapter will sharpen their skills during the AMA Collegiate Case Competition this fall.

The yearlong competition brings together top marketing students from around the world to work on a marketing challenge submitted by a sponsoring organization, according to ama.org.

SFA’s Music Prep to offer Piano Safari Camp

July 18, 2016 - The Music Preparatory Division in the School of Music at Stephen F. Austin State University will offer Piano Safari Camp Monday through Friday, Aug. 1 through 5.

Taught by Dr. Mario Ajero, associate professor of piano at SFA, the class will meet for one hour each day in Room 223 of the Boynton Building on the SFA campus. The camp, which is limited to 10 participants, is for beginning students with no piano experience in the first through third grades.
