January 10, 2019 - We are proud to announce the Excelsior ISD School Spelling Bee! The Spelling Bee will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 9am in the Excelsior School gym. We are excited to demonstrate the spelling skills these students have acquired and look forward to the academic competition.

May 14, 2018 - Memorial Day services will be held at Cedar Yard Cemetery on Saturday, May 26, 2018. There will be a short business meeting at 11:00 a.m. followed by “dinner on the ground”. 

Donations for cemetery upkeep can be made at the homecoming or mailed to Cedar Yard Cemetery Association president, Bill Whittington, P.O. Box 1477, Hemphill, TX 75948

March 21, 2018 - On Friday, March 9, Excelsior ISD enjoyed their first annual Vocabulary Parade. Pre-K through third grades picked their vocabulary word and made signs and costumes to represent that word. They were quite creative and did a fantastic job! Parents and grandparents were present for the event. The parade was a huge success and we can plan on another vocabulary parade next year!

March 5, 2018 - Excelsior teachers, Mrs. Jennifer Cecil and Mrs. Alyson Porter, along with their second and third students celebrated Dr. Seuss’ Birthday and Read Across America on Friday, March 2. The teachers read Dr. Seuss books all week and students made hats for the occasion. Dr. Seuss themed refreshments were served at the party. Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

January 29, 2018 - Leo the Lion from the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council visited Mrs. Alyson's second grade classroom at Excelsior ISD on Thursday, January 25.

The second grade class won first place in a door decorating contest during “Drug Free” week and earned the special visit.
