City of Timpson Notice of Meeting of Governing Body, May 20 Agenda

May 16, 2025 - Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the governing body of the City of Timpson will be held on the 20th day of May at 5:30 pm at Timpson City Hall, 456 Jacob Street, Timpson, Texas, at which time the following subjects will be considered, to-wit:

1. Call to Order

2. Invocation

3. Pledge: United States Pledge, Texas Pledge

4. Council Items: Reports by the members of the City Council on matters not on the agenda will be made at this time. A total, not to exceed 10 minutes will be devoted to these reports. 

City of Timpson Notice of Special Meeting, Feb. 27 Agenda

February 26, 2025 - Notice is hereby given that a special meeting of the governing body of the City of Timpson will be held on the 27th day of February at 5:30 PM at City Hall, 456 Jacob St., Timpson, Texas, at which time the following subjects will be considered, to-wit:

1. Discuss and possibly take action: Accept resignation of City Secretary, Tamara Parker effective February 25, 2025. Allow mayor to settle any payroll balances.

From the Desk of Mayor Debra Smith: PD Closing

March 2, 2021 - On March 1, 2021 in a Special Meeting the members of the Timpson City Council voted, upon my recommendation, to close the City of Timpson Police Department. The vote passed 3 for and 1 against, with one council member absent. Following the vote to close the department the council voted on the Reduction in Force for the last remaining police department employee, Chief of Police Kent Graham, effective March 4, 2021. This vote passed 4 voting to RIF Chief Graham and none opposed.

Timpson FBC Hosting Baccalaureate Service for HS Seniors

May 4, 2017 - On Sunday, May 7, First Baptist Church will again host the Baccalaureate Service for the Timpson High School Seniors, their families, and the community at 6:00pm.

Afterwards there will be a reception for all. Please make plans to attend. We will provide finger foods, chips, dips, desserts, etc.

Class of 2017 - Please make every effort to attend so we may recognize you for your achievement. All seniors are asked to meet in the First Baptist Church's activity building at 5:30pm for insturctions and to put on your cap and gown.
