November 4, 2022 - Although the Center Recreation Department signup days have passed for the 2023 Basketball season, it's not too late!
Parents are encouraged to come by City Hall at 617 Tenaha Street to sign up before November 4th. Office hours are Monday – Friday 8:30-4:30pm. February 4, 2021 - Center Recreation Department would like to announce Spring signups for Baseball, Soccer, and Softball. Sign-ups will be held at the Community House located at 425 San Augustine Street (across from Mangum Funeral Home) on February 2th and February 5th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Boys and Girls ages 4-14 are encouraged to play.
If your child is new to playing these sports, please bring a birth certificate so their age can be verified.

November 11, 2020 - Basketball Season Starts Soon! The Center Recreation Department is proud to announce that the 2021 Little Dribblers sign ups will begin with the first sign-up day of Tuesday, November 10 in the Center Intermediate Gym (next to Port-A-Cool Park) from 5pm to 7pm.
A second sign-up day is Friday, November 13 in the Center Intermediate Gym from 5pm to 7pm.
May 20, 2020 - National Director Jason Mitchell presented Tyler Herndon from Center, Texas, a plaque for earning a Dixie Youth National Scholarship for $2,000. Tyler was one of 100 to receive a National Scholarships awarded in 2020 by Dixie Youth Baseball.
Update: Baseball tryouts have been cancelled for today. However, we will have tryouts tomorrow at 5:30 at the Ballpark. This will be for the 7-8, 9-10 and 11-12 age groups. Any questions, please call 936-590-7196.
February 24, 2020 - Center Baseball tryouts will be Monday and Tuesday, February 24th and 25th at 5:30pm. Tryouts are for Coach Pitch, (9-10) and (11-12) year olds only and will be held at the Baseball Fields at Center Park located behind the college. T-ball does not try out.
