August 21, 2023 - The November 7, 2023 Constitutional Amendment Election is fast approaching. If you are registered to vote and would like to vote absentee, please call our office at 936-234-2147 to request an application for ballot by mail.
There are five reasons one can vote absentee, as follows:
January 17, 2023 - The Shelby County Elections Office is now accepting applications for Absentee Ballots by Mail. You may call us at 936-234-2147 to request one be mailed to you, or you can pick one up at the Shelby County Clerk's office at 124 Austin Street, Center, Texas 75935.
You must be registered to vote in Shelby County, be 65 years or older, or be disabled, in order to be eligible to vote by mail.
October 10, 2022 - The last day to register to vote in the November 8th general election is Tuesday, October 11th. This deadline also applies to any changes that need to be made to your current registration.
You can go to www.votetexas.gov to do this, or you can go to the Shelby County Courthouse Tax Office on the first floor.
