March 16, 2026 - Shelby County Democratic Party Convention is Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Las Margaritas Restaurant, 110 Nacogdoches Street, Center, TX 75935.

Registration starts at 12 noon with convention call to order at 12:30pm.

State Convention is June 25-27, 2026, in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Texas Democratic Party to Conduct Ballot Drawings Via Zoom

Hello Candidates, 

December 17, 2025 - On Thursday, December 18, 2025, beginning at 9:30am, via Zoom, the Texas Democratic Party will conduct ballot drawings for the counties listed on our Run for Office page. (Editor's note: Shelby County is listed.) Counties not listed conduct their own drawings. Within a Zoom breakout room, the ballot drawing will be conducted for one office, going through each county one at a time. 

Shelby County Democrat November Meeting Cancelled

November 19, 2025 - Unfortunately the Shelby County Democratic Meeting scheduled for this Saturday has been cancelled and will be rescheduled to a later date.

November 14, 2025 - The Shelby County Democratic monthly meeting is on November 20, at 5:30pm; you may have a meal if you like.

Meeting starts at 6pm at Las Margaritas, 110 Nacogdoches Street. We will be visited by Roxanne Lathan, Candidate for TX House District 11.

Please come out and join us, and ask any questions you may have. See you then.

2026 Primary Ballot Filing Deadline for Democratic Party

Attention Shelby County Citizens:

November 11, 2025 - Candidate filing is in progress and all deadlines to file is Monday, December 8th at 6pm.

Filing time frames:

  • Precinct Chair: September 9 - December 8, 2025
  • Primary candidates and independent candidates to file declaration of intent: November 8 - December 8, 2025
