February 13, 2025 - Non-profit organizations that qualify under Texas law to receive property tax exemptions must apply to the Shelby County Appraisal District by April 30.
December 6, 2023 - Applications for the 2022 Shelby County Appraisal Review Board Members are now being accepted.
Duties: Hearing and resolving property tax protests on appraisal issues, exemption denials, and special use appraisals.
Requirements: Must be available to attend regular quarterly meetings, one day of training around April and protest hearings for a couple of days in early July. Must be a Shelby County resident for at least the past 2 years. Applicant or spouse cannot have a contract with a taxing unit.
