Former Tenaha Tigers quarterback, and receiver, Reginald Davis did not make last week’s National Football League’s professional draft. Davis did get invited to this year’s Atlanta Falcons football training camp as an undrafted free agent. Davis was one of fourteen players invited to camp on Saturday. Fellow Red Raider, Patrick Mahomes was the only Texas Tech player chosen this year in the draft. He was the tenth overall player selected during the first round of picks.
Davis overcame a lot of challenges during his youth including losing his parents and grandmother at an early age.
He led the Tenaha Tigers in many football and basketball regular season games and playoff appearances, including a Texas State Class 1A Football Championship Title in 2011, as the team's quarterback.
Davis has played the past four seasons with the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Davis acquired 97 catches, 1,301 yards and 18 touchdowns during his career with the Red Raiders. He caught 38 passes for over 500 yards and eight touchdowns in 2015, his best year, as a junior.
Reginald was an excellent student at both Tenaha High School and at Texas Tech where he received a business degree months ago.
