June 8, 2017 - Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) State Troopers were dispatched to a single-vehicle crash on State Highway 7 near CR 1186 on June 8, 2017.
According to Texas DPS State Trooper Sean Smith, sometime before 4pm a maroon 2000 Dodge pickup truck driven by Jose Galvez, 53, of Nacogdoches was traveling west when a tire blew out.
The sudden loss of a tire caused the Dodge to pull left, sending the truck across the road and into the eastbound barrow ditch where it rolled.
Galvez and his passenger Norma Galvez were transported by ACE EMS to Nacogdoches Medical Center in Nacogdoches for treatment of unknown injuries.
No citations were issued at the time of the crash.
The West Shelby County Volunteer Fire Department was also dispatched to the crash where they assisted with traffic control. Shelby County Sheriff's Deputy Pete Davis assisted as well at the scene.
