April 26, 2023 - Good Morning! It's Wednesday, April 26.
Wednesday is my early morning. One of my church's three weekly men's prayer groups meets every Wednesday at 6am at an area restaurant. We usually have about 20 guys there. A nice mix - young and old, working and retired, church members and guests. It's always a blessing for me to sit at that long table and see all the conversations going on. Small talk, mostly, but some big talk, too. For over a year now, God has been working through this gathering, working in the lives of these men.
I don't know all these men well, but I am certain that, if my car broke down, I could call any one of them, and they would do their best to help me out. And I know that they are faithful to remember me in their prayers. Do you have prayer partners? Brothers or sisters in the Lord, who join you on your spiritual journey? It's important that we don't try to walk that road alone. Proverbs 27:17 reminds us that "as iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another".
When I arrive for the Wednesday morning prayer breakfast, it's still dark outside. But when I get back into my car to drive to work, the day has dawned. The restaurant where we meet is called "Estrella". In Spanish, that's the word for "star", but it can also sometimes mean "light". I John 1:7 - "If we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another . . ."
Meet you back here tomorrow,
Bro. David
