David's Daily Devotion for August 26

August 26, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Tuesday, August 26.

When you receive good news, or when something positive happens to you, what do you usually say? Well, if you’re like many Christians, you say, “Praise the Lord!” Or, in our fast paced culture, maybe you just text PTL! We find this phrase of praise over 40 times in the Bible, mostly in the Psalms. But, using slightly different words, the Word of God encourages us, in countless verses, to give Him praise.

We are COMMANDED to praise Him. Romans 15:11 - Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles; let all the people praise Him.

We praise Him for WHO He is. Psalm 145:3 - Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and His greatness is unsearchable.

We praise Him for WHAT He has done. Psalm 98:2 - Sing a new song to the Lord for He has done marvelous things.

We praise Him in HARD TIMES. Jeremiah 17:14 - Heal me, Lord and I will be healed; save me, and I will be saved, for You are the one I praise.

And, finally, Psalm 43:1 sums it up - I will praise the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

PTL!

Meet you back here tomorrow,
David
