Last week three Shelby County varsity football teams lost their season openers and, the Center and Timpson teams both won their openers on the road.
The Center Roughriders beat the Jacksonville Indians by a 31-13 score. Center stands at 1-0 and will now host the Spring Hill Panthers at Roughriders Stadium on Friday, September 5, 2025 at 7:30 p.m. Spring Hill is 1-0 after gaining a 38-13 road win over the Sabine Cardinals.
The Joaquin Rams fell on the road to the Frankston Indians by a 40-22 score. Joaquin is 0-1 and will host the Beckville Bearcats on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 7:30 p.m. Beckville 0-1 fell to San Augustine 19-0 at Wolves Stadium last Thursday.
The Shelbyville Dragons are 0-1 after falling to the Troup Tigers by a 56-14 score. The Dragons travel to New Boston on Friday, September 5 for a 7 p.m. kickoff at Lions Stadium. This will be New Boston’s first game.
The Tenaha Tigers fell to 0-1 with a 41-0 road loss to the Elysian Fields Yellowjackets. The Tigers face the West Sabine Tigers on the road at West Sabine High on Thursday, September 4 at 7 p.m. West Sabine fell to the visiting Timpson Bears by a 41-0 point score. The Bears are now 1-0 and will travel to Lovelady on Friday, September 5 for a 7:30 p.m. game at Lions Stadium. Lovelady is 1-0 after beating visiting Elkhart 52-13 on Friday.
