June 1, 2026 - Good Morning! It’s Monday, June 1.
Last week brought us another edition of the National Spelling Bee. For over a hundred years young students have travelled to Constitution Hall in Washington D.C. to compete for the grand prize. This year it was a check for 50,000 dollars. That’s nice money for a twelve-year-old!
Are you a good speller? I think I am, though I’ve never won a big bee. But sometimes my spelling skills are suspect. Last week I was working at my computer and I typed the word “scene.” I’ve probably written that word dozens, maybe hundreds of times before. But in that moment, it looked totally wrong.
So, what did I do? I turned to the source of truth. I reached for my dictionary. Maybe there’s a spiritual lesson here. Sometimes, in our secular culture, we struggle to know what to do. Sometimes the wrong can seem right. Sometimes the right can seem wrong. So, what do we do? We turn to the source of truth. We reach for the Word.
Psalm 119:1 - “Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord.”
Meet you back here tomorrow,
David
