July 14, 2026 - Good Morning! It’s Tuesday, July 14.
I have a little book in my library titled “A Father’s Book of Wisdom”. My daughter gave it to me on a long ago Father’s Day. I’m not sure if she was suggesting that I was, in fact, a wise father, or that I needed some assistance in the wisdom department. Anyway, this little book’s filled with pithy little thoughts. Here’s a few.
- When an archer misses the mark he doesn’t blame the target.
- We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.
- Don’t use a hatchet to remove a fly from your friend’s forehead.
- Two stonecutters were asked what they were doing. The first said, “I’m cutting this stone into blocks”. The second replied, “I’m part of a team that’s building a cathedral”.
- Behold the turtle - he makes progress only when he sticks his neck out.
- No one ever went broke saving money.
- God makes the nuts, but He doesn’t crack them.
- Don’t carry a grudge. While you’re carrying the grudge, the other guy’s out dancing.
- To teach is to learn again.
- The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest of intentions.
And here’s a closing thought - from another little book.
Proverbs 2:6 - The Lord gives wisdom, from His mouth comes understanding.
Meet you back here tomorrow,
David
