SCOM Seeks Volunteers for Community Programs

September 4, 2026 - As we head into the upcoming holiday weekend, we hope and pray that you have a safe and wonderful Labor Day weekend.

At Shelby County Outreach Ministries, our mission is to feed the hungry and assist the needy in our community. Many people in our community are striving to make ends meet due to the rising cost of food and overall inflation. Our organization is funded by local donations, grants, and community fundraisers.

We also depend on volunteers, which we are desperately in need of. With limited staff and resources, dedicated volunteers are the lifeblood that keep our doors open and our programs running. You can make a difference. Would you consider being a volunteer at one of our programs?  Whether you have a few hours a week or a couple of days a month, your time makes an immediate difference for local families and seniors in need. We are currently looking for a volunteer Meals on Wheels Driver.

Join us as we are “Striving to be the Hands and Heart of Christ in our Community”.  Together we can change lives. If you have questions or need more information, please contact us. Phone: (936) 598-4990 (Main Offices) 936-598-7768 (Senior Nutrition Site) In Person: Stop by our main office Monday through Friday to volunteer!
