September 18, 2026 - Notice is hereby given that a Special meeting of the Governing body of the Shelby County Commissioners' Court will be held on the 23rd day of September, 2026 at 9:30am in the Courtroom of the Shelby County Courthouse at 200 San Augustine Street, Center, Shelby County, Texas to deliberate and consider action on the following items:
1. Approve weekly expenses.
2. Approve current payroll.
3. Public comments on agenda item.
4. Presentation of the Shelby County Fiscal Year 2025 Annual Financial Report by Eric Carver, C.P.A Carr, Riggs & Ingram, L.L.C.
5. Discuss and possibly approve the 2025 Financial Audit as presented.
6. Consider a Resolution proclaiming October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Shelby County.
7. Ratify the Burn Ban issued on Sept 17, 2026.
8. Discuss and possibly approve a request, from adjoining landowner, to close a portion of County Road 2540 located in Shelby County, Texas; with said portion being the Southerly most end of County Road 2540 being 1,521.41 feet or .29 miles.
9. Discuss and take action of FY 2026 Budget Line-Item transfers.
10. Discuss and possibly adopt the 2027 Federal Holidays for County employees.
11. Discussion and possible approval of the Workers Compensation Renewal with Texas Association of Counties effective January 1, 2027.
12. Discuss and possibly consider a request from Timpson ISD Police Department to utilize Shelby County Abatement Funding to purchase and deploy vape-detection sensors in selected high-risk area at Timpson ISD.
13. Discuss and possibly approve the continuation of the Agreement between Southern Health Partners and the Shelby County Sheriff's Office with a fixed rate increase of 4% for the Fiscal Year 2026-2027. The contract period being December 1, 2026 - November 30, 2027.
14. Discuss and possibly consider renewal of the Interlocal Agreement with the City of Timpson regarding the Deputy Constable position.
