October 14, 2026 - Good Morning! It’s Wednesday, October 14.
Guess who’s turning 100 years old today? None other than that lovable little bear Winnie the Pooh! The writer Alan Alexander Milne (A. A. to his friends and loyal readers) published his first Winnie book on October 14, 1926. It was filled with all the famous cub’s friends - Tigger and Kanga and Eeyore and Piglet, and the little boy Christopher Robin, modeled after Milne’s own son. And now, a century later, Winnie the Pooh has brought in profits of over 80 million dollars! That would buy a lot of honey! But the greatest treasure is found in the words. Here’s a few for you this morning.
- You can’t stay in your corner of the forest waiting for others to come to you. You have to go to them sometimes.
- We didn’t realize we were making memories. We just knew we were having fun.
- Think it over, think it under.
- Pooh felt that he ought to say something helpful, but didn’t know quite what. So he decided to do something helpful instead.
- A hug is always the right size.
- Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart.
- Weeds are flowers too, once you get to know them.
- You’re braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.
Meet you back here tomorrow,
David
