Barbara Jean (Walker) Cagle

10/12/2026

Barbara Jean (Walker) Cagle, 68, of Shelbyville, Texas, passed away on October 8, 2026, in Shelbyville, Texas. She was born on September 30, 1958, in Texas City, Texas, to the late John Ed Walker and Nova Joyce (Hand) Walker.

A memorial service will be held at 1PM on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Mt. Calvary Full Gospel Church in Shelbyville.

Barbara grew up in La Marque, Texas, and graduated from La Marque High School with the Class of 1977. She later met Clifton Cagle, and the two were married on November 3, 2006. Together, they shared more than 15 wonderful years of love, companionship, and cherished memories.

Barbara was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who treasured spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was known as the fun mom, full of life, love, and laughter. Barbara never met a stranger and loved to talk, making friends wherever she went and leaving a lasting impression on those she encountered.

In her spare time, Barbara enjoyed shopping, creating diamond art, and all things Shelbyville. She was a huge supporter of the Shelbyville Fire Department. She had a special place in her heart for cats and opened her home and heart to many, rescuing and adopting them whenever she could. Her compassion and love for animals were just another reflection of the caring person she was.

Barbara will be remembered for her loving heart, outgoing personality, generous spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her laughter, her conversations, her love for her children and grandchildren, and the joy she brought to those around her will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Though she will be deeply missed, the beautiful memories she leaves behind will continue to bring comfort and remind every one of the special woman she was.
