Emily Laverne Harris, 85 of Lufkin, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2026, at a nursing facility in Lufkin, Texas. Mrs. Harris was born to the late Benjamin and Rebecca McClain in Chireno, Texas on December 16, 1940.
Funeral services for Mrs. Harris will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 11:00 AM at First Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church (100 Pine Street, Diboll, Texas). Pastor Michel Butler is the eulogist.
Visitation is at New Beginnings Baptist Church Lufkin, Texas from 6pm to 8pm (1002 Pershing Ave. Lufkin, Texas 75904), Friday, March 27, 2026 and prior to funeral service on Saturday First Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church from the hours of 10am to 11am. Repass is at First Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.
Committal is at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038.
