Valree Consuela Johnson

Valree Consuela Johnson was born on August 8, 1975, to Billy Wayne and Mattie Cranford at Shelby General Hospital in Center, TX, where she was loved and raised by Mattie and Michael Cranford, Sr.. She passed away July 27, 2026 at the age of 50.

Funeral service will be held at 12PM on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Mangum Funeral Home with Pastor Mario Osby officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 12PM – 4PM at Mangum Funeral Home. 

Val, as she was affectionately known, attended Blount Chapel Baptist Church. She completed her elementary and secondary education within the Center ISD, graduating with the Class of 1993. She later attended Tyler Junior College, where she met Michael Osby. Together, they had two daughters and subsequently adopted one son.

Val was known for her radiant spirit and unwavering positivity, regardless of life's challenges. She dedicated herself daily to the well-being of others, finding immense joy in nurturing those around her. Her selfless nature was evident in her willingness to care for children, run errands for those around her, or simply offer comforting companionship. 

Valree resided in Nacogdoches, Texas, where she continued to care for her youngest child still at home. Beyond being a devoted mother, her role as a grandmother to her three grandchildren was a title she cherished above all. In her final days, Valree remained present, selfless, and kind, even as she faced prolonged pain and extended hospitalizations.

She was preceded in death by all her parents, Billy Johnson, Mattie and Michael Cranford, Sr..

Valree's enduring impact will be profoundly remembered and cherished by her beloved family.
