Wanda I. DeTar, 97, of Nacogdoches Texas, formerly of Cowden and Mt. Pulaski, Illinois, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025, in Nacogdoches, Texas. She was born on July 22, 1928, in Cowden, Illinois to Ralph "Doc" and Florence (Lorton) Turner.

Wanda was predeceased by her parents; husband, David B. DeTar; former husband, Ralph E. Loveall; son, Dennis L.R. (Laverne) Loveall; grandson, James Loveall; and siblings, Ralph Turner, Dan Turner, Jim Turner, Nelda Dunn, and Cora Boyles.

Memories of Wanda will live in the hearts of many. She was a second mom and grandma to countless other children and friends who found a warm, welcoming home and unwavering love. She was a treasured soul who made the world a better place.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Cowden, Illinois. Burial will follow in Lorton Cemetery in rural Cowden.
