August 27, 2018 - Ages 4 to 12 are invited to sign up for Center Youth Cheerleading. The cost is $60 and registration will be in the Center Middle School Cafeteria on Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 6pm until 7:30pm. For more information, contact Kattie Evans 936-332-0418.
August 27, 2018 - The Varsity tennis team improves to 4-1 record.
The Riders traveled to Whitehouse Friday, August 24 and faced their toughest competition thus far. Center lost 12-7 to the Wildcats, but played a number of close matches that could have gone either way.
Center then played in their first home match Saturday, August 25 vs Jacksonville. The Riders came out on a mission after the Whitehouse loss and dominated most of the matches and pulled out all of the close matches for a 17-2 win.
This makes the Team record 4-1 with their next match to be held in Center vs Spring Hill on Tuesday, September 4.
The JV Team will be in action this Thursday at Home vs Whitehouse at 4:30pm.

August 27, 2018 - The Joaquin vs. Deweyville high school football game scheduled for Friday, August 31st, in Deweyville will begin at 7:00 p.m. instead of 7:30 p.m.

On Thursday Joaquin held their Meet the Rams event. Members of the school’s band, twirlers, football team, cheerleaders, and the mascot were recognized.
The Rams participated in a scrimmage immediately after the event and will start their regular season game with an August 31, 2018 road trip to Deweyville High School. The Rams were 8-3 last season and were the second place team in District 12-2A1. The district champion was state-semifinalist San Augustine High School.
The Rams are coached by Head Football Coach Wade Lawson.

August 22, 2018 - The Center Varsity Tennis Team is off and running with a 3-0 start.

Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Shelbyville Dragons’ Gymnasium –
Shelbyville Independent School District held their annual Meet the Dragons event on Tuesday. High School Principal Mario Osby recognized this year’s participants for band, cheerleading, football and volleyball.
During the ceremony the band and cheerleaders, as well as the Dragon’s Mascot gave well-polished performances. The event had a pep rally atmosphere and many community members and faculty showed up to pack Dragon’s Gym and give them support for a successful 2018-19 school year.
The Dragon’s football team was picked #3 for District 12-2A by Dave Campbell’s Football Magazine. San Augustine, last year’s state runner-up (14-1), was picked first. Groveton is picked second for the conference. They were 6-4 last season. Others competing in District 12 are, Deweyville, Hull-Daisetta, and Pineland West Sabine.
August 21, 2018 (Flyer) - Shelby County Football League is under the direction of the City of Center. Registration will be in the Center Middle School Cafeteria on August 17th and August 21st rom 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
4/5 Flag and 6/7 Flag is $75 per player. 8/9 Tackle and 10-12 Tackle is $100 per player.
